Keep crashing during Follow Freeman chapter

I'm at the part where I have to disable 3 generators, and after I disable the very first one, the game keeps crashing.

What's the deal? I tried reloading different save file (older one) in case it's corrupted, and verified cache and stuff, but it still crashes.

Anyone has any idea how to fix this thing?

I had a problem like that in "Anti-Citizen One" where you have to run along that one really long street.
It just fixed itself after a while.

To be more specific, it crashes when the enemy guys show up after I disable the first generator and then cross the bridge connecting two buildings.

Anyway, okay. I guess I should try doing that mission from the beginning.
Just thinking about it makes me want to throw up though.

Yeah. I loaded an older save file, and it went without any trouble.

I got another bug while playing HL2 episode 1 that the whole screen goes like a pink and black chess board when I fall in water, and if that also happens to you,
try typing -dxlevel 95 in the "set lunch options" that you can find in the steam library.

I've had a similar problem in the same place, but it seems to be time based. Restarting the chapter did not help.

I had this problem and I can confirm the way I 'fixed' the issue was to start from a previous save from the beginning of the chapter (specifically where you start disabling the 3 generators). once I did that it worked fine. I tried the save prior to the latest one and that didn't work, it was the one from the beginning of the chapter that worked.

Its definitely an issue with the save file.

Anyone has a non-corrupt save file near disabling the generators? Mine crashes during the ambush in the room you get locked in, after disabling 2 generators.
