Recommended mods for replaying.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking into replaying HL2 and probably going for an achievement run, I was wondering if there are any good mods (NOT custom missions), apart from the cinematic mod for this game. Is there any weapons mod that is compatible with CM or any gameplay mod that you have in mind? Thanks !

I don't know, when I'm bored I usually use this mod:

Then open skill.cfg in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2\cfg with Notepad++ and change the Magnum values to the following:

sk_plr_dmg_357 "80"
sk_npc_dmg_357 "30"
sk_max_357 "594"

Then you join whatever level you'd like and type "givecurrentammo" in console while holding the revolver, and you have a gun that shoots for 80 damage a shot (enough to kill most weaker enemies) and has 600 shots (100 full clips.)
You can change the values to whatever you want, do 1000 damage a shot and have 2,000 shots if you'd really like to.

Crylife! It doesn't give HL2 achievements, but it replays HL2 with cool abilities as well as new weapons. There's also Synergy, but it's just HL2 - Ep2 made multiplayer, nothing new except maybe some drivable vans and doubt scoutcar.

I'd appreciate if people actually read the OP. I am of course aware of mods like Black Mesa, but I am asking for mods that improve the base Half-Life 2 game because I am interested in finishing it again, NOT play a different game.

I had the almost exact same problem. I was looking for some good mods to replay it with but couldn't find any. Here are the ones i already found.

Also, i would like to say that i do not know any others and have not played most of these yet. I do not know which change models or add guns or whatever. I only know that SMOD is a ton of weapons and brutal and MMOD makes fire, models, animations and water better.
SUBSTANCE is also a good one but i have not tried it yet. It has different suit variations and not only 1 or 10 or even 25 but 40 new weapons. It is an alternative universe where the humankind never gave up but you can still load in the original maps. I see CryLife is NOT out yet BUT it is a really good REMASTER of SMOD containing new weapons NEW models NEW animations and new UI
