Redoing My Achievements xD (Read the OP)

After Valve integrated Episode 1 and Episode 2 with Half-Life 2, the achievements were gone, but when you open the game and check in-game each episode, the achievements are back... The problem is that they are back like using cheats or hacks, all at the same day, at the same time, which is horrible to see (this bothers me).

So... I decided that I'll re-lock all achievements using Steam Console and re-unlock them by playing all three games again. This actually turned to be a good thing because it gave me reason to replay the whole Half-Life 2 series.

I did the exact same thing. But I can't seem to earn some achievements, like picking up the can one in the intro for example, are you having similar issues?

I'm having trouble to remove the achievements.
Every time I come back to the game, in-game the achievements are already made and they automatically do on Steam. I need a hard reset, I don't know how to do a hard reset on Half-Life.

Is anyone else unable to unlock the achievement Blast from the past and Two points from HL2?

You can fix that by using SAM, removing achievements on all 3 games, then launch episodes 1 & 2 via Steam > Tools. After that if you launch HL2 it should be 0.

Nope, can't unlock anything aside from lambda collector in HL2.

I just loaded the game to check....

I still have my Half Life 2 achievements...
But ALL my episode 1 & 2 achievements are gone.

Just me?

No, me too .. I love Half Life 2 and Episode 1 and 2 but, not really excited tu do again the larva achievements from episode 2..

I had the same issue. Start og EP1 and Ep2 (you will find them on tools) launch them there and then launch the new half life 2. That should make your trophies to pop up.

No, me too .. I love Half Life 2 and Episode 1 and 2 but, not really excited tu do again the larva achievements from episode 2..

Did you open the episodes and click on ACHIEVEMENT? If you click there the game will sync the game achievements with Steam achievements and you'll get them back... But you'll get back TODAY like you did all of them at the same time using hacks or something.

I tried to undo the achievements so I can do it again with Steam Console but, for some reason, the game keeps redoing them every time I check, so I need some kind of hard reset to start Half-Life 2, EP1, and EP2 all over again, from zero like never done... Maybe I should try to delete the .cfg, maybe the config would do that.

I also got issues about unlocking achievements while playing. I started to play Ep.1 again and I can't unlock Pacifist (containing the citadel core without killing stalkers) and Conservationist (killing 5 enemies with the same energy ball). I did these ones correctly and didn't get unlocked.

Same thing happened to me, achievements show as unlocked or completed on the in-game menu, but not on Steam.
Found this and it worked for me...

Quit Half-Life Episode 1, if it is running.

Delete the file ...\steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2_complete\gamestate.txt

Make sure you are online AND connected to Steam.

Then start Half-Life Episode 1, and replay the part relevant to the achievement.

I deleted the save files from all 3 games, then removed the achievements using Steam Console, and then when I opened the game up all the achievements flood back. I also deleted the config and config_default files from all 3 games... Nothing. The achievements keep returning and I have no idea how to stop it.

I'm pissed off by their decision to do this, tbh. I was proud of obtaining those achievements when I did, and don't want them all timestamped the same; nor do I even have those save files to unlock them anymore...

Did you find a way to relock the achievements without them unlocking automatically at the same time? I tried to delete .cfg, tried to delete save file, turned off cloud, nothing is working.

After removing the achievements from Steam, delete all 4 versions of the "gamestate.txt" file (in the hl2, episodic, ep2 and hl2_complete sub-folders).
