Water flickering in Route Canal chapter
Hi everyone,

Anyone else see random flicker or flash when playing in the route canal chapter? Can't seem to figure out why it is happening, but I can confirm that 2 different PCs on my end have the same issue. The most notable spot is right before area where the door closes, after the tunnel. If you try to go to right as soon as you leave the tunnel, it appears. I don't have any mods, and verified files several times. I can probably record it if needed. I also tried changing various settings and limiting frame rate but no dice.

System details:
Both are Nvidia, one is a 2070S, the other is a 4070
Both are AMD am4 CPUs
Both have 32GB of DDR4 3600 M/T ram

Thank you.

Here is a video, you pay attention, there is a flicker. Sometimes it is bigger than in this example. Also, it is not always happening, but mostly it is. Also, before anyone asks, yes I have tried without any overlay elements. The second link shows the issue described better.

So, just an update, looks like the issue exists on the build that pre-dates the Anniversary edition, but is not as bright as it is now. Tried installing an older nvidia driver(551.86), but made no difference. Still reproducible. I also tried Vulkan, just to see, same results unfortunately.

Here is a freeze frame from my video. Looks like the reflections bugger out when it happens, hmm...

Yeah. I've seen this and I'm running on an RX 7900 XTX, so not Nvidia exclusive. I ultimately don't think it's a big deal.

True on the overall issue. A game bug like this certainly isn't breaking and whatnot. I am just inquiring to see if others have it. Even though I had another PC to reproduce, trust, me, it takes stress off knowing it isn't just me, haha. Thank you for looking out bud :)

Same thing was happening here. What fixed it for me was going into the video settings, and turning the shader detail setting from Very High down to High, though that seems to make my framerate slightly more unstable.

Really hope Valve actually fixes it, I'm sitting here waiting for them to tidy up the release in general, especially with how many people are reporting loads of bugs in the episodes.
