episdoe 1 and 2 gone from games list?

why? also my acheivements for episode 1 and 2 are gone???

so from my hours of researching and trying to get my acheivements back anbd talking to others with the same issue it seems that, if like me, your old saves have gone then you will lose your acheivements. even installing the older versions of the game and reloading the new version of HL2 will not bring them back. :( it really sucks as i had nearly 100 percents all 3 over 12 years ago and i dont really want to have to play them all again to get thr acheivemnts again

Because you cen select it in Half Life 2 itself. Same as e.g. in Doom Eternal.
Want to play Lost coast? It is in the Half Life 2 "Extras" menu

yeah i see that but all my acheivements have also gone from epsidoe 1 and 2 also. really annoying ive lost all my acheivements...

For the umpteenth time it is in the tools section now. It's almost like people don't bother reading the patch notes directly from the developer. I've seen this asked in multiple threads across multiple online forums.

Because people are sheeple and cant read. Its easier to ask someone and get straight answer. Thats why you dont answer anything but: Read the patch notes. That way they can do that themselves.

They are now in tools section. Yes, technically no longer on actual games list.
Steam overlay no longer work on them. Valve pls fix.

Go to tools section, and then launch the episodes from there. After that go to hl2 and then you'll get your achievements back.

i understand that they has to move them into 1 cleint or whatever but i have lost al my acheivements for epsiode 1 and 2 for some strange reason. i honestly dont know why they needed bundling them all toghether tbh seems a bit silly and pointless. im annoyed ive lost all those acheivemnts

You haven't lost the achievements, or at least that wasn't the intention. I got all my ep1/2 achievements popped in HL2 as soon as I launched the game. Others report you have to load a save or start a new game in HL2 or the included episodes

it also carried over my ep1/2 saves

its wiped my episdoe 1 and 2 acheivements and saves for some reason :(

With the recent changes to the laws on games you purchase on steam you don't actually own the games you buy just a licence to play them iv decided why spend my hard earned money on games when I don't own them. This is a classic example of that I spent money on the episodes as stand alone products and they got taken away from me as standalone products.

I tried to be a good boy and pay for my games and spent a small fortune in the process but for what exactly?

I will be going back to pirating games moving forward. If the software it's self is null and void why pay for it?

Start episode 1 & 2 (now located in the 'Tools' section) then Start Half-Life² to sync achievements.
