Is Half Life Episode 1 & 2 now included with Half Life?

I've heard that after the 20th Anniversary, "Half-Life 2 now includes the complete Episode One and Episode Two expansions along with the base game." So if I own Half Life 2, will I also own Half Life Episode 1 & 2? Or do I still need to buy them separately?

No, you can own Half-Life 2 only to play episodes

What I want to know is, are the separate EP 1 and 2 programs on Steam useless now? Because I tried uninstalling them and I could still access them within base HL2. So I guess that means HL2 does not use the files from the original EP 1 and 2 Steam apps, it just has the files built-in?

What about "The Lost Coast". ...I have this too. & is Vulkan API still supported.

So from what I'm getting, the 20th Anniversary Update adds Episodes 1 & 2 to the base Half Life 2, regardless of if you own Episodes 1 & 2 or not. So if I want to play Episode 1 or 2, I just have to buy Half Life 2 and both episodes come with it?

You don't have to buy anything because it's free until Nov.18th.

You need to install and launch the old versions of Episode 1 and 2, close them, allow the steam cloud to update, then launch HL2 so it'll import your previous achievements. After that, they are useless unless you wanna play the old versions for whatever reason.
