Report a translation problem
I experimented the legacy pre-anniversary build just to make sure these didn't happen. I was able to play through the legacy version just fine. So I thought I was the only one with these issues.
I hope I was able to help you give a little insight on this. I apologize if I wasn't much of a help.
Interesting. I also got the portalnum > numareaportals crash. I also saw one other person with this problem, but it was never resolved. This doesn’t seem to be happening with a majority of people.
I used to mess around with modding the game in the Custom folder before the update, and so I assumed that may have been it, but It never worked even with my mods out of the custom folder, and it seems to be a problem with the maps, since, after looking online for a bit, I found that portalnum > numareaportals regards map errors, and is primarily seen in hammer.
Have you messed around with the files at all before the update? Maybe with adding maps in or putting mods in your Custom folder? I want to see if it’s only happening to people that have messed with the internal stuff.
I recently had the chance to return to this problem and I remember having installed Obsidian Conflict in the past. This actually fixed the problem for me and now the game is playable. Thank you for posting this.
Disclaimer: I can't vouch that it will solve the issue for other users, I can only speak for myself.
