Including the episodes into the main game is fine, although I can understand why that would be frustrating depending on your enjoyment of them or lack their of.

The only thing I'm annoyed by is how the achievements I unlocked for the episodes were not carried over into the new sum total of the main game. I capped them all for EP2. They are now gone and I don't think I can muster the desire to get the gnome back into the rocket. Rather arbitrary but still annoying.

dude when i got the episodes I had to ask my mom to get them so yk... I went through an awkward conversation for like 2 hours of fun and a gmod dlc :/

This is probably the worst thing about the update. Although they probably don't have the backend to do this.

ersten die episoden beliben erhalten, werden unter werkzeuge ganz normal angezeigt, zweitens kann man die episoeden ganz normal ohne das neu hauptmenü stareten, es werden dan kein mods geladen.

You need to go to Tools > Install both episodes (it will only create a shortcut on desktop) > Run them > Open Half-Life 2.

I don't remember if you have to select each episodes in HL2 too, but other than that, it helped me getting all my achievements for Episode 1. The only downside is that they all unlocked at the same time, so it kinda looks like I used SAM lol.
