Getting back the missing achievements (Explaining the method that worked for me)

For the people who have missing achievements from Ep.1 and 2 with the new update, this is how they are imported to the new HL2 update (worked for me):

-Search for both ep.1 and ep2. in your library (now showed in the tools instead of games)
-Click install for both (if you already installed the new HL2 update, it won't download anything)
-Launch each for once
-Now launch the new HL2, and all missing achievements will pop up in the updated version

it worked but i got some achievements that i didnt even have before and it doesnt show the actual date i achieved them on

I had all before so I don't know if they add all the achievements or only the ones you achieved.

And yeah the dates are not imported unfortunately, at least you can see the original dates in the versions that you can access from tools, but not a good way to handle all this for sure. I also hated when they launched CS2 they deleted all the previous achievements only to replace them with a single achievement at launch

13 is the number achievements from Episode 1, maybe you haven't launched it from tools yet only got the ones from Ep.2?

Lemme try starting Episode 1 and see if that works since I just was in the main menu and got all but those 13, which is weird

From tools? No clue what that is, just launched it and got all but 13 achievements

If you search the game in your library, there is a Games section and a Tools section, the episodes are in Tools now. As I said in the original post, you need to install them there, launch once and close it. Then relaunch new HL2 version and your old achievements should pop up

Same here, had HL2 and the Episodes installed before the update, but launching HL2 after the update only unlocked the Episode Two achievements. Starting up legacy Episode One didn't fix it.
