Alyx Model Replacement

I wanted to make things interesting by replacing the Alyx with someone more interesting, but I can't find out how. I kinda new to PC gaming so yeah, sorry I don't know anything. I googled it, but nothing works.

If you've already downloaded a replacement model for her, go to your steam folder /steamapps/common/half life 2/hl2 and make a folder there called custom. Then go into that folder and make a new one. Call it whatever you like, but don't use any spaces. Then extract the "models" and "materials" folders into your new folder.

If you want to do this for ep1 do the same thing in th folder called "episodic". For ep2 do it in the folder "ep2"

I decided to use an extracted GMod file. I got the model and animation working, but I can't figure out how to get the textures to work. They don't really correlate with the original model's textures, but I don't know if that's the problem or if it has to do with where I put them. Any help?
