Will we ever see Father Gregori again?
I mean, really. He was a very well made character. It'd be a shame if Valve never used him again. I really hope he returns in HL3 or Episode 3

City 17 is virtually decimated. Chances of him returning are extremely nil.

Actually, after the events of Ravenholm, we were nevr really updated as to what happened to the fate of Father Gregory. I think we should all atleast consider it a possibilty that he escaped Ravengholm.
There is a possibility that Ravenholm was not destroyed by the citadel collapse. Though the coordinates of the small mining town are unknown, it may have been far enough away that the citadel had verry little effect the town.

Considering Black Mesa East (near the suburbs of City 17) had an entrance to Ravenholm (note: not a tunnel, an entrance; otherwise there would be more gameplay involved for getting to Ravenholm) I'd say it was most likely wiped out by the citadel collapse. The fate of Father Gregory though, isn't necessarily assumed to be that of death as the time ellapsed across HL2 and EP1 would be long enough for Gregory to get to saftey, assuming he survived the zombie attacks once you left him at the graveyard.

True, I mean, he went into that tomb looking area. It could've been an escape tunnel to a safe area for all we know.

That's actually a very plausible theory. I mean, Ravenholm afterall is a small town that was used to evade the combine. So, if the town was used as a refugee town, they should have been safe to assume that if the Combine found the coordinates of the town, they would've attacked it. So the people could've made several secret routes out of the area if and when they had to evacuate.

I ripperd this directly from the Half Life Wiki.
"Given the circumstances of his last encounter, even if he survived the large zombie horde that he and Gordon stirred up, the destruction of the Citadel could have obliterated Ravenholm. The time and distances involved are sketchy, but as Gordon manages to reach Black Mesa East in about 2 to 3 hours or so, and Ravenholm is just outside Black Mesa East, it can be judged that Ravenholm is around 20–40 km from City 17. Seeing as the forests outside City 17 are relatively untouched, it can be reasoned that Grigori escaped the Citadel explosion. It is not impossible that he escaped by waiting out the fire and running away, but being slightly insane, he may have fought to the end anyway. In Raising the Bar, they say his eventual fate was left up to the players to decide and that they did not plan to re-use the character in the series." HL Wiki

So in short, he may have survived, but he probably won't be seen again.

It seems Valve is leaving a lot up to the community to decide. I feel like they were encouraging the modding community to come up with scenarios/mods to fill the gaps in which Half-Life 2 left wide open. It's unfortunate to see that most of these gaps are still left untouched, but at the same time, I'd like to think they will wrap things up come Half-Life 3.
