"How does Civil Protection work in HL2?"
Title says it all. I kind of need to explain how Civil protection works in half life 2. Can someone explain it to me shortly?

Non-mechanical reproduction simulation means that CPs, if they do their job good, they basically get a drug that makes them think they are engaging with a partner sexually. They aren't actually doing it, it's just a heavy drug that simulates the person is having sex, or is in sexual contact.

Were's your source on this?

Pretty sure I talked with a HL2 expert, I also saw it on Lemonpunch.net , a HL2:RP server forum website, might just have been on the wiki either.

There's no official word on what NMR actually is. Personally I would assume it's either A. The permission to masturbate or B. If a female unit has arned the rights to NMR and a male unit has been rewarded NMR as well, they can get it on together. Is what I'd assume. (Note: I have on several occassions written mails back and forth with HL2 Story writers and there's not really any info to be given out, because they're not done with the series. They refuse to share information pertaining to most things that weren't revealed in the game yet.)

There's no real reproduction. It's just reproduction simulation.

Berating them for incompetence would only be neccesary if the berating made a difference. If you tell your computer it's doing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ job, it doesn't run faster. Just like Overwatch Soldiers wouldn't do a better job, if they didn't have some shard of self-awareness left.

Personally, I don't think the brainwashing is designed to turn people into mindless drones, but more like Scientology. Where you are indulged in some "ultimate truth" about the Combine, that makes you worship them like gods.

RP as in Role-Playing? Because only the events depicted in the original campaigns are canon; and, being a regular HL wiki editor, I never saw that in any article.

RP as in Role-Playing? Because only the events depicted in the original campaigns are canon; and, being a regular HL wiki editor, I never saw that in any article.

Yeah well, there is a HL2:RP gamemode in Garry's Mod, I'm currently an admin on a server, if you guys have GMod, and are interested in HL2, pretty sure you will like the gamemode and the server aswell.

I've been administrating and running HL2RP Communities for over seven years now. HL2RP Canon should not be confused with REAL HL2 canon. Hl2 Retail doesn't even have Elite Patrol Units like the beta was supposed to. HL2RP has it's own lore with City Administrator, Sectoral Commanders, Divisional Leaders, Divisions, Elites, Commanders and ranks within the divisions followed by minimal use of Dispatch.

You can't really compare the two.

Yes, every server has a different lore, so yeah, you can't compare the two.

Lore is mostly the same on every HL2RP server. With EpU's, DvL's, SeC's, OfC's and so on.

Yes I know that, but I meant the rank system specifically, and the division names, for example:

MPF-APEX-SAVAGE-DvL.82029 (one server) - MPF-APEX-OfC.20970 (another server)

They kind of differ.

It doesn't really. Only the names of the divisions are different. It's all Recruit to 01 to OfC to EpU to DvL to CmD to SeC

On our server, we stopped using 05-01 ranks and we also stopped using DvLs :c

I personally wanted them to get back, but I keep getting yelled at that "DvL sucks, there is no need for it because OfC does exactly the same" and "05-01 ranks doesn't make sense because people will be jealous at each other". Well, I some-what, and I say again, only some-what agree with them but since I don't have any authority to do anything with MPF, I can't do that. I'm an EpU myself and it got boring, DvL would be very nice. I'm actually the leader of OTA on the server, that's also cool.
