The necromancer is strong in you. However, the weird things of the mod are optional; the mod author originally did the mod for himself, we should be grateful he shared it with us and gave us the option to disable his little personal "flavour".
BUT with the correct expression of atmosphere from the valve original designer.
Not this. bunch of HDR, bloom, mixed with some kind of SSAO, high resolution texture, more detail and more fog.
BUT it delievers nothing like HL2, it looks like jungle OMG.
No matter how good is the graphic. A game with the wrong atmosphere is like a skillful soldier on the wrong side. the better his skill is, the more he should be put to end.
(I also see what people mean, by stealing other's work. I purely despise people who do that, cause it's a form of plagiarism, and that's bad!)
(also i'm gonna try the mod out, just to see why it's good and bad, cause I'd like to see both sides in person!)
For the intro : I played HL² from day one (not on steam) and I finished that game so many times I know it by heart. When I play HL² original, I have my habbits and speedrunning it, knowing any hidden spot.
First impression about CM2013 : I was surprised I felt confused when playing it, but it was entertaining due to its little changes. Now I'm thinking twice, I have to adapt and modify my way of playing, that's interesting.
The configurator : allows me to customize the game to my liking. I can pick a different kind of music or not, I can change the model skins or use the original one in HD, same for the NPC.
Most of the visual effects are decent, but not useful. I'm turning off the ENB, blur, DoF, grain and ambiant occlusion which are too many shiny effects useless for the Freeman. More options are always welcome !
All in all, that's a new experience with lots of optional settings. If you want the original feels without anything new, just try the Update. But if you want to experiment something new with all the HL² vibe, just give that CM2013 a try, it's free!
So far so good. Excellent work.
