Report a translation problem
Although its different mechanic, I got a similar feeling in Metal Gear Rising, where in the beginning of the game I was stuck behind a metal fence and then I remembered that I can simply cut trough it.
Honesly, the big action games still don't do that. Instead a lot of companies chose to copy Call of Duty. They have physics engine, but its barely used in gameplay.
I look at Borderlands which is a big franchise and how bad the driving physics are in that game. Halo 1 did it way better 14 years ago.
Also, yeah, the facial expressions. I can't think of may games that can top that.
