Another Half Life 3 Theory (WIP)

NOTE I have an alternate plot, just in case Alyx actually comes with the player. (I doubt she'd actually stay behind, but, I dunno, its just part of the theory)



Now, this theory is a Half Life 3 theory, definitely not the first of its kind, let alone the last. We shall base the release bit on many facts. It shall cover HL3's possible story, and its probably release, not the date, or year, as those are determined by Valve themselves in their own judgement. (The release bit shall be added in once the theory is complete, as the title says, this is all WORK IN PROGRESS, and its pretty long, so take some time to get comfortable)

Half Life 3, developed on Source Engine 2, blows people's minds away by how mindblowing its graphics is, its better than the cinematic cutscenes of Halo 2 Anniversary :)

Plot:

Pt. 1. After Eli's death in the end of Episode 2, things take a turn when Alyx tells Gordon that she must stay behind on this mission. Her need to be close to her father as possible. Also to bury his dead corpse. *

* (Alternate plot: Alyx goes with Gordon, her heart full of rage in desire of revenge to destroy Advisors)

Gordon takes off with the chopper Alyx had prepared for their trip, with good use of the coodinates from Kleiner, as well as hailing frequencies, extra gas, and gear equipment for the snowy environment/terrain. *

* (Alternate plot: Gordon and Alyx both take off with the chopper, Alyx puts on some warmer clothes for the journey ahead, along with her father's vest, to keep something of his close to her, she helps Gordon navigate the chopper)

As Gordon gets nearer to the Arctic like location on his map, suddenly, he feels the all-to-recognizeable pulse throb from a nearby advisor, the Combine don't want Gordon interfering with their plans, so the Advisor causes Gordon's chopper to crash land. Gordon survives the crash, he picks up his trademark crowbar and the Gravity gun to look for any signs of the combine, combine = finding mossman = finding Borealis. *

* (Alternate plot: Gordon and Alyx get nearer to their destination, while suddenly an Advisor causes their chopper to crash, in order to preserve both their lives, Gordon and Alyx use emergency parachutes, and have a bumpy landing. Once on the ground, with gathered supplies and weapons, they search for any combine outposts. Alyx mentions her hate for Combine and Advisors)

Gordon, in his search endevours, experiences a dreadful blizzard, partly blinded by snow, he eventually finds a beacon, as he gets closer the blizzard dies down and he can see what looks like an entrance to an underground base guarded by a small combine outpost. He fights off Arctic Combine, and blows the hatch of the half-hidden base open with the gravgun. He procedes inside. *

* (Alternate plot: Gordon and Alyx dreadfully pace through a blizzard, they eventually find that beacon, kill combine, and gain entry to the unknown base)

Inside the base, Gordon finds more combine lurking around every corner, its apparent to him, that there's more to this base than meets the eye. His objective, indeed is to find Mossman, and destroy the Borealis. He finds a screen, and activates a not so old recorded video of Mossman being interrogated by Combine Elites. *

* (Alternate plot: Just the same, but with Alyx)

Gordon must now fight his way through combine soldiers to find Mossman, he eventually finds the chamber they were interrogating her in. One of the elites is about to extract all information reguarding Borealis out of her brain, when Gordon bursts in and shotguns them all down. He procedes to take the cap that was on Mossman's head off and she recovers to tell Gordon everything that happened. *

First, before Mossman can reveal about Borealis, she takes Gordon to a safe location with some rebels hiding out, there, she reveals all she knows about Borealis, how they came to find it, how she believes it came to be there, what it might contain. She also tells that the Combine have not yet found the Borealis, thanks to her not revealing any idea of the location *

* (Alternate plot: Gordon and Alyx listen to all of what Mossman has to say, Alyx states that they came to save her, and to destroy the Borealis, Mossman doesn't think the latter. She replies to Alyx that the Borealis is a valuable source of information that must be discovered, not destroyed, and thus she believes what Kleiner stated back in Ep2. *

* Alyx tries to convince Mossman that Eli wanted the Borealis destroyed and to respect his knowledge of it. She also reveals to Mossman the horrible truth of his death and that it was caused by Combine, Advisors. This convinces Mossman, and they all go searching for its whereabouts)

So far, this is starting to sound like Alyx should be with Gordon, to be his voice for Mossman. It just makes sense...anyway, continuing.

Mossman tells Gordon a little later after she has spoken with her team of rebels that she has pin-pointed the exact location of The Project. Mossman asks of Gordon to go to the Borealis to investigate. Gordon makes his way through to the Borealis through Arctic caves and such. Meanwhile Mossman via hailing frequencies sends out messages to White Forest, Kleiner responds and calls Alyx to come, they reveal to Mossman about Eli, and that the Borealis must be destroyed. *

* (Alternate plot: The same, except the last part about Alyx, she's with Gordon and Mossman already knows about Eli)

When Gordon finally reaches the open collosial cave and in the distance sees the Borealis, he also sees that the Combine have actually just arrived in their experdition.

Pt 2. Gordon makes his way to the Borealis, when he gets there, the Borealis has Combine already onboard they appear to be searching for something. *

* (Alternate plot: The same except with Alyx, Gordon and Alyx find the collocial cave the Borealis is in, they get to it and find Combine)

Gordon's objective is clear, destroy the Borealis, now how he destroys it is a question, he procedes first to make sure there are no more Combine on the ship, when he hears a startling sound, there are indeed Advisors aboard, or either outside...he is not sure. Gordon is now cautious as he continues to explore. *

* (Alternate plot: The same, except with Alyx. Gordon and Alyx take out all the Combine they find, and investigate if there are any more, when that sound comes up, and startles Alyx and Gordon)

Continuing this exploration, Gordon comes to what looks like to him a control room, nothing out of real interest, so he continues. More Combine. (to speed this process up a bit) Gordon now finds in the ship's lower deck what the Combine are seeking guarding a certain door. He has quite a load of soldiers to take care of, but nothing the Freeman can't handle. *

In the room Gordon opens up, he finds to his shock Advisors, and some strange video device they apparently are trying to gather information from, the two Advisors turn around to face Gordon, one pins Gordon to the wall, while the other keeps gathering info, when all of a sudden Adrian Shepard bursts in through the door firing at the Advisors with a Gluon gun. *

He somehow manages to kill the one holding Gordon back. The other panics takes the device and blows through the ceiling.

That device only contained video information on what was going on when the Borealis disappeared...the Combine had not yet found what they were really looking for.

Adrian looks at Gordon, Gordon looks at Adrian, Adrian moves to pull Gordon to his feet, and begins to speak, he says that he was sent here to help the Freeman, he can tell that Gordon is the Freeman, as he notes that he has seen him before. Gordon can only stand there silently. Adrian notes Gordon silence. He says to Gordon that they must find the Console before the Combine do. *

* (Alternate plot: Alyx stares in amazement at Adrian, Adrian says that he has never seen her before, but he declares that our Mutual Friend showed interest in her before...he then continues that they must find the Console before the Combine do)

The Console is all the Combine are after, it has the capability of aiding them in their quest to unleash their armies onto Earth to enhililate the planet. Adrian says that he is not sure how it works, but it seems like some sort of Portal Creator...so Gordon and Adrian procede to look for this Portal Creator. *

They indeed find on the bottom deck, a large room, with an experiment looking device, what's left of scientists combined with crew members of the Borealis is also noted. on the other end of the room, they hear Combine chatter, and Adrian tells Gordon to get ready, the Combine have found they're ultimate prize, but they ain't getting it without a fight. So Adrian and Gordon are locked in a battle with Combine soldiers, and Elites. *

* (Alternate plot: And Alyx)

While most of the soldiers draw their fire, a new type of Combine emerges, what appears to be a super elite, he moves to this device, this goes unnoticed, as Adrian yells to Gordon that they have to stop the Combine from getting that Portal Creator, just before this Super Elite opens up the device and supposedly enters coordinates, Gordon shoots him and Adrian finishes off the rest of the Combine. *

* (Alternate plot: Adrian and Alyx finish off the Combine soldiers)

Adrian beckons Gordon that they must investigate this device, Adrian sees that the Super Elite entered a Coordinate beyond his understanding, he says that it must've been a close call, the Combine was close to opening a Portal. Gordon says nothing, but indicates somehow that they must take it back to Mossman. *

So Adrian and Gordon get out of the Borealis with this device...and head back to the base with Device in both hands. They get back to the base, and Mossman inspects the device, she says that she believes if the Combine had gotten their way and opened a Portal to the Combine Overworld, they would be able to ready their forces and take the device into their own tech for the Portal to be enlarged for their whole armies to come out. *

Mossman says that the Device must be destroyed, but she reconsiders, saying that there's only one way to destroy the Combine, to stop them from ever coming back, and that is to go through this portal the Super Elite entered coordinates for, and find out whatever could be leading the Combine on the other side to destroy it first. *

* (Alternate Plot: Alyx says that she wishes to go with Gordon, but Mossman says that it is wiser to stay behind, to think about Eli, would he have wanted her to go to the Combine Overworld? So she convinces Alyx to stay)

So Gordon is naturally the one to do the hard work, Adrian says that he can only help, Gordon has dealt with master bosses before, (Nihilanth). Before they open the Portal, Mossman contacts Whiteforest...Kleiner answers it, and Alyx comes to the screen, Mossman explains briefly what is going on, Alyx gets emotional, and says to Gordon, that "Whatever is up there Gordon, you must destroy it! And Gordon...I...I...love you...be careful." *

* (Alternate Plot: Gordon and Adrian prepare to go into the Portal, Alyx says that she needs a minute alone with Gordon before he goes...Alyx then continues to say to Gordon, "Gordon, this is it, be careful up there, and promise me you'll come back," Alyx procedes to give Gordon a hug and also a kiss on the cheek...she finally says, "I love you..." and slips back and then Adrian and Gordon leave into the Portal)

Mossman says it is time to open the Portal, and says to Gordon, to be careful for whatever they find on the other side of the Portal. The Portal opens, Gordon and Adrian go through...

Hmm, he should, also, I noticed that in everyone else's HL3 theory, not one of them state who gman could be in the theory, instead they are separate theories. I evidently left Gman out for this whole time, and didn't think about Adrian.

if you look at freeman and the gman they are the same person. just one doesnt wear glasses or have a chinbeard, and is much much older. my 2 cents

That was pretty much one of the theories I suspected. Gman is future Gordon manipulating the events to ensure they play out properly.

Well, its one thing I refuse to believe in. Because Gman is so, creepy, and plus, he has powers, AND think of the paradoxes!! Hasn't Doctor Who, and/or Back to The Future taught anyone anything? No offense.

I just don't see it possible, and let's not forget that, appearances are decieving, just because gman looks like gordon, doesn't mean he IS. I'd settle for an alternate reality gordon who is thus gman, and trying to change events for the real world or something...just my thought.

Anyway, back to the theory I have written here, its still WIP though.

Just one small (major) problem:

In Half-Lifea: Alyx, Alyx SAVES Eli, and then G-Man deems her a worthy replacement for Gordon Freeman and puts her in stasis. Eli then gives Gordon his trusty crowbar and vows revenge on the G-Man.

Otherwise, cool idea!

* (Alternate plot: Gordon and Alyx dreadfully pace through a blizzard, they eventually find that beacon, kill combine, and gain entry to the unknown base)

Inside the base, Gordon finds more combine lurking around every corner, its apparent to him, that there's more to this base than meets the eye. His objective, indeed is to find Mossman, and destroy the Borealis. He finds a screen, and activates a not so old recorded video of Mossman being interrogated by Combine Elites. *

* (Alternate plot: Just the same, but with Alyx)

Gordon must now fight his way through combine soldiers to find Mossman, he eventually finds the chamber they were interrogating her in. One of the elites is about to extract all information reguarding Borealis out of her brain, when Gordon bursts in and shotguns them all down. He procedes to take the cap that was on Mossman's head off and she recovers to tell Gordon everything that happened. *

* (Alternate plot: Just the same, but with Alyx)

First, before Mossman can reveal about Borealis, she takes Gordon to a safe location with some rebels hiding out, there, she reveals all she knows about Borealis, how they came to find it, how she believes it came to be there, what it might contain. She also tells that the Combine have not yet found the Borealis, thanks to her not revealing any idea of the location *

* (Alternate plot: Gordon and Alyx listen to all of what Mossman has to say, Alyx states that they came to save her, and to destroy the Borealis, Mossman doesn't think the latter. She replies to Alyx that the Borealis is a valuable source of information that must be discovered, not destroyed, and thus she believes what Kleiner stated back in Ep2. *

* Alyx tries to convince Mossman that Eli wanted the Borealis destroyed and to respect his knowledge of it. She also reveals to Mossman the horrible truth of his death and that it was caused by Combine, Advisors. This convinces Mossman, and they all go searching for its whereabouts)

So far, this is starting to sound like Alyx should be with Gordon, to be his voice for Mossman. It just makes sense...anyway, continuing.

Mossman tells Gordon a little later after she has spoken with her team of rebels that she has pin-pointed the exact location of The Project. Mossman asks of Gordon to go to the Borealis to investigate. Gordon makes his way through to the Borealis through Arctic caves and such. Meanwhile Mossman via hailing frequencies sends out messages to White Forest, Kleiner responds and calls Alyx to come, they reveal to Mossman about Eli, and that the Borealis must be destroyed. *

* (Alternate plot: The same, except the last part about Alyx, she's with Gordon and Mossman already knows about Eli)

When Gordon finally reaches the open collosial cave and in the distance sees the Borealis, he also sees that the Combine have actually just arrived in their experdition.

Pt 2. Gordon makes his way to the Borealis, when he gets there, the Borealis has Combine already onboard they appear to be searching for something. *

* (Alternate plot: The same except with Alyx, Gordon and Alyx find the collocial cave the Borealis is in, they get to it and find Combine)

Gordon's objective is clear, destroy the Borealis, now how he destroys it is a question, he procedes first to make sure there are no more Combine on the ship, when he hears a startling sound, there are indeed Advisors aboard, or either outside...he is not sure. Gordon is now cautious as he continues to explore. *

* (Alternate plot: The same, except with Alyx. Gordon and Alyx take out all the Combine they find, and investigate if there are any more, when that sound comes up, and startles Alyx and Gordon)

Continuing this exploration, Gordon comes to what looks like to him a control room, nothing out of real interest, so he continues. More Combine. (to speed this process up a bit) Gordon now finds in the ship's lower deck what the Combine are seeking guarding a certain door. He has quite a load of soldiers to take care of, but nothing the Freeman can't handle. *

* (Alternate plot: The same, except with Alyx. Alyx helps Gordon a lot during this small battle)

In the room Gordon opens up, he finds to his shock Advisors, and some strange video device they apparently are trying to gather information from, the two Advisors turn around to face Gordon, one pins Gordon to the wall, while the other keeps gathering info, when all of a sudden Adrian Shepard bursts in through the door firing at the Advisors with a Gluon gun. *

* (Alternate plot: The same except with Alyx. They both get pinned.

He somehow manages to kill the one holding Gordon back. The other panics takes the device and blows through the ceiling.

That device only contained video information on what was going on when the Borealis disappeared...the Combine had not yet found what they were really looking for.

Adrian looks at Gordon, Gordon looks at Adrian, Adrian moves to pull Gordon to his feet, and begins to speak, he says that he was sent here to help the Freeman, he can tell that Gordon is the Freeman, as he notes that he has seen him before. Gordon can only stand there silently. Adrian notes Gordon silence. He says to Gordon that they must find the Console before the Combine do. *

* (Alternate plot: Alyx stares in amazement at Adrian, Adrian says that he has never seen her before, but he declares that our Mutual Friend showed interest in her before...he then continues that they must find the Console before the Combine do)

The Console is all the Combine are after, it has the capability of aiding them in their quest to unleash their armies onto Earth to enhililate the planet. Adrian says that he is not sure how it works, but it seems like some sort of Portal Creator...so Gordon and Adrian procede to look for this Portal Creator. *

* (Alternate plot: Gordon, Alyx and Adrian)

They indeed find on the bottom deck, a large room, with an experiment looking device, what's left of scientists combined with crew members of the Borealis is also noted. on the other end of the room, they hear Combine chatter, and Adrian tells Gordon to get ready, the Combine have found they're ultimate prize, but they ain't getting it without a fight. So Adrian and Gordon are locked in a battle with Combine soldiers, and Elites. *

* (Alternate plot: And Alyx)

While most of the soldiers draw their fire, a new type of Combine emerges, what appears to be a super elite, he moves to this device, this goes unnoticed, as Adrian yells to Gordon that they have to stop the Combine from getting that Portal Creator, just before this Super Elite opens up the device and supposedly enters coordinates, Gordon shoots him and Adrian finishes off the rest of the Combine. *

* (Alternate plot: Adrian and Alyx finish off the Combine soldiers)

Adrian beckons Gordon that they must investigate this device, Adrian sees that the Super Elite entered a Coordinate beyond his understanding, he says that it must've been a close call, the Combine was close to opening a Portal. Gordon says nothing, but indicates somehow that they must take it back to Mossman. *

* (Alternate plot: The same, except with Alyx)

So Adrian and Gordon get out of the Borealis with this device...and head back to the base with Device in both hands. They get back to the base, and Mossman inspects the device, she says that she believes if the Combine had gotten their way and opened a Portal to the Combine Overworld, they would be able to ready their forces and take the device into their own tech for the Portal to be enlarged for their whole armies to come out. *

* (Alternate plot: The same, except with Alyx)

Mossman says that the Device must be destroyed, but she reconsiders, saying that there's only one way to destroy the Combine, to stop them from ever coming back, and that is to go through this portal the Super Elite entered coordinates for, and find out whatever could be leading the Combine on the other side to destroy it first. *

* (Alternate Plot: Alyx says that she wishes to go with Gordon, but Mossman says that it is wiser to stay behind, to think about Eli, would he have wanted her to go to the Combine Overworld? So she convinces Alyx to stay)

So Gordon is naturally the one to do the hard work, Adrian says that he can only help, Gordon has dealt with master bosses before, (Nihilanth). Before they open the Portal, Mossman contacts Whiteforest...Kleiner answers it, and Alyx comes to the screen, Mossman explains briefly what is going on, Alyx gets emotional, and says to Gordon, that "Whatever is up there Gordon, you must destroy it! And Gordon...I...I...love you...be careful." *

* (Alternate Plot: Gordon and Adrian prepare to go into the Portal, Alyx says that she needs a minute alone with Gordon before he goes...Alyx then continues to say to Gordon, "Gordon, this is it, be careful up there, and promise me you'll come back," Alyx procedes to give Gordon a hug and also a kiss on the cheek...she finally says, "I love you..." and slips back and then Adrian and Gordon leave into the Portal)

Mossman says it is time to open the Portal, and says to Gordon, to be careful for whatever they find on the other side of the Portal. The Portal opens, Gordon and Adrian go through...

...

Just one small (major) problem:

In Half-Lifea: Alyx, Alyx SAVES Eli, and then G-Man deems her a worthy replacement for Gordon Freeman and puts her in stasis. Eli then gives Gordon his trusty crowbar and vows revenge on the G-Man.

Otherwise, cool idea!
