first playthrough on Follow Freeman stuck for an hour on the last part

So recently, i watched BigMacDavis' walkthrough at 1:24:47. Yet the strider didn't break the wall. Is this a recent glitch?

I should restart the map first, but its getting late

This is from Normal Difficulty, maybe I quick save alot & got repeat the map 3 times

Your supposed to kill the Combine Soldiers and be in a certain spot to trigger the Strider's Warp Cannon. Make sure to kill every Combine Elite you encounter on the map.

I actually did quite a number on the soldiers until my weapons emptied out tho

Than your doing something to cancel their animations like using cheat codes for more RPG ammo or you forgot to turn off some mods.
Striders also need to reach certain spots on the map to fire their Warp Cannon as well.

It took me this long to play it again if restarting the game helps. Yet its normal to get frustrated bruh
