did eli died after episode 2? i just wonder what happened to him cause in half life alyx he returns i never played half life alyx but i think it was never explained.

i still think it was a mistake not having the combine advisor who kills eli immediately suggest for gordon to date its daughter

But...SPOILERS;
In Half Life Alyx, the G-Man changed history, so Alyx gives herself over to the G-Man in order to save Eli.
So, in the new timeline, Eli was never harmed in the first place, but Alyx is missing.
