how tall is the citadel
So I did some calculations to try and find how tall and wide the citadel is (btw i wrote this at 3:35 am - 5:40 am)
THE CITADEL
i believe the citadel is about 81,000 feet tall 150000 acres wide (full width) 1,000 - 10,000 acres wide (building width) and reaches over 50000 acres. (wire length estimation)
the railroads may stretch as far as 900000 acres (length estimation)
THE VAULT
i think the vault is about 1,080 feet tall and about 24,732 square feet wide (building width) 222,588 square feet (wire length)
NOVA PROSPEKT
Nova prospekt is about 120 feet tall and about 464 acres wide (building width) also seems to connect through city 17 and the citadel so train length may strech as far as 900000 acres again

I doubt that since you basically see most the width in HL2 when you first enter underneath it, no way is that 150000 acres, more like 5.

I am writing this at 4.12 AM.

I mean't that the entire city is about 150000 acres, i used that as a width of the citadel because all of the wires that span across the city, I think the citadel's actual width is about 1,000 - 10,000 acres

Clarification: the 900000 acres is an estimate for how far the underground trains in episode 1 goes, i at least put it at nova prospekt but for all we know i could be across the globe

Rule of thumb for commercial buildings/skyscrapers is 10' per floor, most often, the floors can be id'd by the large windows so all you need to do is, (if possible) count the number of windows from the ground up and multiply by 10

there is only ever two windows that we see in game that are outside and they both are at the top of the citadel

Actually I didn't recall ever seeing windows on it, I was being snarky when I made the post
Its right before you hit Breen's office and you can see a model of NYC the dev's put in for the illusion of C17 under you
Imagine taking the stairs to get to Breen's office, my god I'll take you about 7 days to climb. You better make sure the elevators are functional, or your screwed. :steamlaughcry:

Now I am thinking of the movie
I'm Gonna Get You Sucka
When those two henchmen keep getting tossed down stairs....

good thing most of the soldiers aren't really human anymore

breen has a button in his office that opens up a comically tall slide in the floor where you're standing that takes you to the bottom of the citadel
Combine tech made it that tall so it would be the same of it not putting much collateral damage to the city below?
POV "Gordon taking a slow elevator ride to Dr Breens office"
