Who really IS the G man?
Throughout the Half Life games, your constantly being watched by The G Man. A mysterious figure who's always wearing a blue suit and carrying a briefcase filled with unknown contents.
But who is he really?

A Monster?
An Alien?
An Enemy?
An Ally?
The CEO of Black Mesa?
Or is he simply Gordon Freeman's guardian angel making sure he stays safe and out of trouble?

Listen to him speak. He constantly stutters and pauses, like he's trying to fully grasp human language. And look at his eyes. He is very clearly not of this world.

I believe he is a very powerful agent sent by some unknown entity that is bigger than anything we've ever seen in Half-Life before. Something bigger than the entire Combine empire or Gordon Freeman himself. I believe this entity has some grand scheme, and Gordon is very important to the fulfillment of this scheme, which is why the G-man seems to have an interest in him.

my theory is he is an shu'ulathoi and wants to liberate his fellow kin from the combine, why he stages a resonance cascade on the world i wouldnt know

another theory i have is he is an agent for a interdimensional power that is at war or at cold war with the combine, and earth was just a little distraction target

He is an agent of some kind, working for an organisation who he only describes as his "employers". His employers have him abide by "certain restrictions". He is definitely not human. He may have sympathies for humanity, however he seems to be bound by the wishes of his employers, pushing events in a certain way, perhaps bringing the eventual downfall of the combine. https://half-life.fandom.com/wiki/The_G-Man Read this.
