How To Install Skins?
Hi!

I've always wanted to install skins for HL2, but I never knew how and I always seem to mess up when I attempt to.

To be more specific, I'm trying to install skins for Black Mesa, but BMS isn't on steam yet so it doesn't have a discussion forum, and considering it's a mod they have the same way of installing skins, right?

But even still, I would probably put skins in HL2 one day, so I guess this still applies.

Any help?

(PS sorry if I went off topic with the BMS stuff)

For Half-Life 2
Create a folder called "custom" in this directory:
Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ Half-Life 2 \ hl2 \

Now create another folder called whatever you want (eg: new_stuff) Place your skins in that folder.

There will be skins like this[hl2.gamebanana.com], where the content is inside a VPK file. In this case you don't need to create an extra folder, just paste the VPK file in the "custom" folder.

As for the Black Mesa stuff
I don't know if the "custom" folder will work; if not, you would just have to paste the skins in the right folder replacing the original content.

Example: Download this[blackmesa.gamebanana.com], open it, inside there is a folder called "Black Mesa Product Placement Mod," inside there is a folder called "materials," paste this folder here:
Steam / SteamApps / sourcemods / BMS /

If it asks to replace something, do it.
Open the game.

I hope that helps.
