EA Orange Box? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS

so according to this The Orange Box is an "EA classic" I know that EA helped code HL2 for the PS3 because Valve found it too hard to code for it, but this is the PC version, so since when does EA have anything to do with the PC Orange Box

EA was the retail distributer for it (atleast PS3 version). I guess they took over PC too for retail distribution.

EA is also a more widely-recognized name in the public and has been around for far longer than valve has.
