Opposing Force 25th Anniversary?

Why won't Valve or Gearbox do a 25th Anniversary update for OpFor? I feel like that game constantly gets shoved under the rug.

Valve won't bother because they didn't make Opposing Force

Gearbox... why would they care about some old expansion they worked on decades ago?

Just the unfortunate reality we live in, really. Literally any time that someone asks either company about Blue Shift or Opposing Force, they just dismiss it and say to ask the other or something. A rather frustrating limbo

Valve already did Anniversary update for HL1, which directly affects op4 aswell, so i don't know what you're really asking here for.

Some OpFor specific update, maybe with some small new content? Also some kind of documentary with Gearbox and/or Valve. And maybe add Workshop support to Half-Life 1, OpFor and Blue Shift

sounds about right. expansions being outsourced contracts,seemingly not enough passions attached from neither party.

its sad because everytime i replay OF i seriously question myself if HL1 is better.

I always thought Opposing Force was the better game. It has more enemy types, more weird guns, it gets straight to the action, the action pieces are more chaotic, the environments are more detailed and interesting (the biodomes, the barnicle research area, etc). The HECU feel like your bros.

HL1 takes forever to start speeding up and even then, outside of surface tension and lambda complex, it rarely gets as hectic as Opposing Force.
