HL2 and it's tech allowed for better storytelling. Be it the face work, physics engine, and flow of mechanics and systems for ease of play. The game is interceding new concepts throughout. Some only showing up for just one chapter. It's verity and consistency. The episodes improve on that with better AI and more cross system work.

When it was new in 2004 it was definitely an amazing game; even in 2014, it was still quite a good game, but starting to show its age. But now by 2024, obviously it is quite mediocre due to the aged graphics, plot, gameplay, physics, and (lack of) content compared to much newer games that are superior in all those aspects.

After I beat Half-Life 2, I immediately felt a wave of power and bliss come over me, and Gaben himself whispered incantations into my ear telepathically. I now know the true meaning of life and have spoken to God directly with the powers Half-Life 2 and Gaben have bestowed upon me. I am a transcendent being and my business empire and family dynasty will persevere until the end of the Earth and 14 more months afterwards. this game have the most satysfaing use of physics in objects that naturally works in-gamepaly, one of the best storytelling games ever made, a really good facial expretion for all character and a fun gameplay
