I don't understand the point of even fighting back in the Half-Life universe?
7 Billion dead, Earth is trashed and is going to freeze since it lost like a 1/3 of its water.

What is the point after all that?

Because you still try and make a better future for yourself and the people around you, even if the odds are against you. Because all isn't lost. There are still humans and Vortigaunts willing to put it all on the line for the hope of a better tomorrow. You have to have hope if you want to live. Otherwise, you're just surviving. Fighting gives them the chance to realize that future, that hope. One person fighting can spark that change.
