What are striders exactly?
I mean they look like robot things, but in HL2 ep 2, when D.O.G. killed that Strider. There was a brain that was ripped out from the strider. Are they like robots, cyborgs?

They are biomechanical beings, just like dropships.

Entirely artificial biomechanical creatures made by the Combine, appropriately called 'synths', for synthetic.

They're artificially made living creatures with robot parts in, i guess.
