HL2 EP2 crash at startup

As the title suggests, my game crashes when it attempts to load the main menu. It seems to correlate with my custom folder having too many mods in it. For some reason, this is an issue I only experience with EP2. Is there any solutions to this issue besides deleting mods?

If you have a mod incompatibility issue then there is not much anyone can do to help you. All you can do is try to figure out which mods are causing the problem through pure trial and error by removing them one by one and testing the game each time.

Thanks. I actually already figured out the issue, though! It looks like Episode 2 reads the custom folders of hl2 and ep1 as well, which was causing the issue.
