Black Mesa Source

Indeed I do own a copy of definitive edition on steam, however recently I felt like playing through the original Black Mesa hl2 mod.

I whacked it into my sourcemods folder but can't seem to get it to open up. From what I can see on the moddb page, it appears I am not the only one facing issues with the mod. I understand that the devs have moved on to their steam version, however I don't quite know why that would effect the mod working.

Perhaps I don't have a version of source installed? Idk

So, if anyone has any clue on how to get the og black mesa mod to work, please let me know
