What? Half-Life 2 download size is 2.0 GB.

When i installed Half-Life 2, its size is 2.0 GB. What? Its a very small size, is it compressed? Then, what is Half-Life 2 actual size (I dont have source games installed on my laptop) (its still downloading)

The actual HL2 size is about 6 GB. That's really weird.

I know. I tried to go on steamapps folder, and i found out HL2 was taking only 3.50 GB of space. BTW its still downloading. I gotta see what happens when i launch HL2.

But the size that steam considers HL2 has is 2.0 Gigabytes in the downloads tab. But when i go to the SteamApps/Downloading folder, it says its 3.50 GB. While VonHootie02 said its about 6 GB. Something is wrong with my steam.

I believe Half-Life 2 has an installer that runs in the background. It generates the needed files (textures, shaders, etc) while the game is being ran. This is why it's actually recommended to run the game for a good 5-10 minutes before playing any mods like Minerva: Metastasis

But, nearly Every product on steam is compressed in downloading and it gets uncompressed when installing
