If you owned either Half-Life 2 or Half-Life 2: Episode One prior to buying The Orange Box, you should have received giftable extra copies of those games:
https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/7FA6-7318-AC7F-AF99
The "Account" section of Steam should show details of your game licences and purchases:
https://store.steampowered.com/account/
or click the Support button on the Library page for a particular game.
If a game does not appear in your Library, search for it by name, or use the menu bar to select View > Hidden Games.
Thanks, no history of buying EP1 or EP2 - very strange indeed.
13 Nov, 2004 Half-Life 2 Bronze Complimentary
14 Jan, 2004 Half-Life Platinum Pack Complimentary
These are the only mentions of half-life in my order / key history!
I have no family sharing enabled either!
*EDIT*
Just checked steamDB
Episode One Free Weekend - Jan 2020
Episode Two Free Weekend - Jan 2020
There we go, it was a free weekend!
