what ik people love about beta is not just the atmosphere, but two other things: the fact it's vague af as a barely coherent amalgamation of several development drafts, which kinda makes it intriguing, and the amount of content valve made around it.
latter is especially understandable when many missed all the hl1 stuff missing or dumbed down in retail. it's funny how valve, renown as game design geniuses, make several GB worth of content only to scrap them cause "not good enough according to testers" or something, but then you got like ten teams of modders over the years who tried to prove them wrong. well, tbf said modders did not have a product to sell.
i like the beta but i honestly think that both the final game and beta are balanced
also i swear i wouldnt wanna leave one of the fans who obese over the child labor parts (which werent even in the 2003 storyline) alone without a policeman in a park
child labour is a touchy topic in asia. valve at least thought so back then, therefore cutting the children from hl2.
tbh i like the anti-reproduction field idea too. not sure it's smart, but i like what valve tried to go for with it.
Cutting Children has nothing to do with China. What are you? Joe Rogan or even Alex Jones fan?
only point you could argue is how much valve specifically thought of china when making the decision. that's not something i care about though, tbh.
