What soldiers did combine use to invade earth?

So i found myself digging through wikipedia pages and i wonder about this.

The combine invade universes/planets and as their trademark tactic they enslave/use the top of the foodchain and twist them to be their most effective soldiers on that planet.
(Combine synth soldiers, headcrab bombings, vortigaunt slaves, alien dropships etc).

Is it known anywhere what the original form of the combine is? I'd think it's something like a combine advisor but even those seem a bit engineered.
I'm gonna guess it's not mentioned anywhere what the origin of the combine is but do we at least know what they looked like during the "seven hour war" aka the invasion of earth?
They couldn't have humanoid combine troops by then yet and headcrabs etc were already infesting earth.
Did they use vortigaunts?

a newspaper pinned somewhere in eli's lab at black mesa east shows a picture of NYC probably during the invasion. you can see a strider there.

it'd be likely many of the non human synths you see were also used in the invasion. striders, gunships, hunters, scanner synths, the crab and mortar synths which you only see before the chapter "our benefactors". maybe even some stronger units. not much is told about the seven hours war so can't give you better than that.

I forgot about striders/hunters being a viable main ground force for a second.

Come to think of it the surrender to combine makes a lot of sense in a war of the worlds situation combined with all creatures from Xen causing havoc.

I mean personally, I think its better off being a mystery. It'd be near impossible to comprehend a alien armys complexity if it took over earth in 7 hours.

I'm betting that the combine have been messing with worlds for so long that to save space they were geared up before they popped up near earth, they were geared up to absorb and compromise locals to beef up their invasion with expendables

I am a 7 Hour War Vet.

My experience was really depressing. Seeing the world just fall apart by a hostile alien force invading the planet was heartbreaking. My family probably died from alien ships or friendly helicopters crashing into the houses. It was horrifying.

When the combine first starting invading Earth Xi Jinping sent the People's Liberation Army Navy and the United States Navy, two massive navies in the world, were gone in a heartbeat. They stood no chance against the weapons the Combine used. The giant combine tripod huge "striders" obliterated nearly every tank. Even the ZTZ-99A, the most powerful tank in the world, stood no chance.

The QBZ-95/97 and the new QBZ-191 was nothing compared to what the Combine had. Every conventional firearm did nothing. The synths they used, aliens mixed with alien technology, just captured our planet like eating rice.

Missiles fired were dissolved by lasers on their tripods. Their pulse.. ray gun cannon ripped through any tank. Outposts and bases obliterated by the ray gun "artillery cannons" they had. Naval ships taken out easily by the Combine's "ships". Synths outperforming the infantryman and his rifle. Sometimes even camouflaging with the environment.

Thankfully Gordon Freedom saved the entire planet. Sadly the Communist Party of China and the heroic Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Though as much as I loved my country and the party. America put up the best fight. Their advanced technology did the most damage to the Combine.

Combine main goal to control every universe or whole multiverse with all possible universes and demensions, they capturing every universe they can invade (close guess its orange universes they can make teleportation to, their logo says they want to get out of orange box) but they looking for aperture science ship borey, wich will help them get to the source thrue xen to Library/aleph. they will conqure everything instantly. Votritgaunts using power same as G man and Combine Advisors with technology help, some people are able too like Eli you can see Advisor telekinetic power pinned gordon and alex but bounced off Eli so advisor grab him with hands.
