Half - Life 2's Biggest Unsolved Mystery Yet

So, I had recently saw on Youtube there was a huge Half - life 2 mystery going on that ever since the game's release had something to do with a grafiti called "The Umbrella man" The mystery reminded me of GMod ARGs even though it has nothing to do with GMod. Here's the link to that video:

There is another version of the grafiti used in the beginning of Ravenholm. The mystery all began back in a website called "HL2.net" which was made back in 2005/2006. There was a post talking about the mystery. If you go to the Ravenholm chapter and look to your left, You'll spot a dark alley way which you'll find the grafiti "The Umbrella Man" However you will notice some changes and differences. 1. The face is black and distorted 2. the legs are missing. However, If you go into hammer editor and load the first Ravenholm map. You can find the grafiti and you can lift it up. If you lift it up, You'll see distorted appearances. When users pulled the decal up, They noticed something strange with the decal. There was a copy from a archive website of the altered grafiti. And if inspecting the image you'll find out it is actually corrupted! You'll need to inspect it in the text editor of the image and scroll down. You will find the following text/command:

"console command: "INTERLOPE"
'Unknown Command' "INTERLOPE
console: Get s.interlope.pull:27015"

These texts are actually console commands! You must type in the word "INTERLOPE" in the console without the two marks (Sorry forgot what they're called). But it'll just say "Unknown command: Interlope" But don't assume it didn't work because it actually did. Then type in "console: Get s.interlope.pull:27015" without the two marks. And once you do, Unusual things will happen.. It'll take you to a random area on any map and your camera will shake agressively for a split second and it will quit to main menu. And you will recieve a message in the console saying: "Adminstrator: WELCOME WITH CAUTION. YOU ARE NOT WELCOMED HERE:)". Now you may be wonder, What on earth just happened?! What happened was that the text you put in generated a demo. If you don't know what a DEMO is, It is a command where it allows you to record gameplay on the console. If you load in a recorded demo it will quit to main menu once it's finished. Here are the demo commands

But we know the word "GET" That is used in the command:
"Get s.interlope.pull:27015" has something to do with what generates the data in demos. And names them data.dem But what was asked the most was what is the data contained withen the files? And what is generating them? Addcording to hl2.net there is a "90%" chance of normal demos being recorded. While the 5% chance are well.. Like the typical GMod ARG. Some of the maps include files such as "Data.bsp" You can load into them. But.. Does this DEMO thing and data map work on other games such as TF2,Portal,Counter-strike? Let's find out! So, If you do this.. It pretty much works! It goes same for Half - Life 2. But in Counter Strike source, There is something a bit different. Instead of your camera shaking agressively, It just teleports you around the map really quick. And here is where stuff quickly shifts into something out of a GMod ARG. Sometimes, They appear as if they're being controlled by a VR headset user. And it is just very weird. You'll see frames of strange things in the sky, Weird sudden VR Movements. It happens very rare sometimes. Users in hl2.net calls these the "Type 5" Demos. These are the very weird ones. Such as there being a creepy Half - Life 2 demos from the coast maps.

yeah i've been telling everyone about this! once i was playing half 2 on ravenholm and i saw what looked liked the same grafiti

The umbrella graffiti exists in game and always has, but it's just a normal decal. If you paid closer attention to the video, you would see that the graffiti in question is a corrupted version of the original which leads down the whole interloper rabbit hole. If you go into hammer, you can see pretty quickly that this "corrupted" texture is a custom asset and not an unused part of the retail game. The umbrella graffiti is one of those cases of people giving meaning to the meaningless, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun regardless.

ok so that graffiti is terrifying but why is this "mystery" not solved? im guessing its not supposed to be solved, its either some guy trying to get attention via making weird hl2 vids or its just a random mystery that wasnt supposed to be solved, either way if this mystery is a serious thing then i guess maybe it will never be solved, maybe in the future it will. Oh and was the graffiti made by Valve? just asking lol.

i just saw the video and the mystery is weird, the SPOOKY COAST thing was the strangest one, the fact that there where random civilian models floating around and in the end you just get pushed down and drown at the ocean is pretty weird, so you're telling me that if i just randomly go to HL2 TF2 or CSS and type "INTERLOPER" i randomly start running a creepy demo? lemme try.

Unknown command" is normal when you type it in. Did you watch the whole video?
