Is the Half Life fandom cancerous?
Several people have said that the Half Life fandom is cancerous, it also doesn't help that 60% of the fandom yap on about 3 and cake being a lie, so I'm curious if it is considered a cancerous fandom because if so, I'm leaving it.

Don't leave fandoms based on what you hear, leave based on what you experience yourself.

Good point. From what I've seen, the only negative things about the HL fandom are the cakeliars, and the 3ers, so, I'm sticking with the HL fandom. Thank you for helping me with this. :steamhappy:

Hmm... interesting. That does explain why people know your name. But I imagine it was hard, growing up. It must have been terrible to see all the other children chatting. Well, you probably got over it by now, but still, I am sorry.
By the way, how did you graduate from MIT? It must have been pretty difficult to complete the exams. Or did the teachers make an exception for you and allowed you to do it on paper?

No, HL's fandom is not cancerous, I've never ever heard it being called so. It's the one fandom I can be a part of that hardly anything bad ever happens. I will say the old jokes are getting annoying (you know, the confirmed joke, gaben jokes, cake is a lie jokes, etc. etc.) But the game is awesome, that's what I care about most concerning this.

All I see that could be considered cancerous in the fandom is Alyx fanart.

Oh God, no. I hate Alyx porn. About as bad as Gordon x Barney porn (Yes, that's a thing).

I can assure you anything "cancerous" has long since passed. The last "cancerous" things I experienced with this fandom was in 2013 with a thread on this forunm several thousand posts long and since then things have been peaceful with the exeption of some posers necroing a thread asking for ironsights

The reddit community is kind of pushy.

Okay, the general consensus is that HL is NOT cancerous. I'm staying in the HL fandom and PROUD of it! Long live the Freeman!

We are most pleased to hear that The Freeman has decided to bear our vortessence just enough to not leave this place. We shall wait for the coming of The Half Life 3 together with great excitement. Long live The Freeman!
