Can you still add mods in HL2 ?

I tried to add a mod (unsuccessfully) to change Alyx to Hatsune Miku but it doesn't work . I installed it in the proper folder (made the custom folder) but it will still only launch as Alyx . One of the mod creators (the older one of 2) said you need a pirated version to work now . The second mod maker said it will work post patch . Anybody have any luck with any mods ?

• materials
  
• models
  
• any other folder next to these two

This is were you have to put those folders:

Half-Life 2 \ hl2 \ custom \ hatsune_miku

Must be doing something wrong . I still get Alyx :( ... I shouldn't have to delete the Alyx files , or do I ?

If you have other alyx skin/files in your custom folder delete them and try again.

The Half-Life 2 files are no more in GCF but VPK. Maybe it's ur problem if u r playing it on steam.

I saw that , the first one stated it won't work unless you have an old version or a cracked copy . The version I have "suppose" to work on the newer update . Suppose too ....

So it wasn't made for HL2. Did you rename the model files as the tutorial says?

I thought I renamed all of them . Do I need to also do it in the HL2 Update version too ? Both are loaded on my pc .

Just redid it again ..... Miku loads but her nose is messed up for some reason . She now has a metallic Pinnoco nose ... Lol ! How do you get the screensjot to show up here ? Edit : It's the gun barrel appearing as her nose . It also only works w/HL2 Update , which is ok by me . But the nose ...

Now, that's her EMP tool, which is a separate model, so no idea why it's showing up there.
