you put it in sourcemods and restart steam,make sure to search for it too since it can be hidden (common with hl mods)

Yeah so I've tried basically every method of installation and I've checked and doublechecked everything yet MMOD never shows up in the library. This is infuriating, how is an HL2 mod this big of a pain in the ass to install in 2022?

You literally put the folder into the "sourcemods" folder and then restart Steam, it should appear in the library.
Be sure you've installed the correct SDK's that are needed for mods as well.

You have to refresh the steam game files.

Had same troubles yesterday. You need to have hl2 installed in the library that's where your steam is installed. Then you need SDK 2013 singleplayer, and then you need to put the mod files in sourcemods folder that's in steamapps fodler.
