What order do I play the games in??

Do I play HL then HL pt 1 and pt 2, or are the separate and don't matter??

Black Mesa is a remake of Half-Life 1. But it's different enough to be it's own game. I say you should play it after playing all the main games.

just found out, so should I get the 1998 version of Half Life? Half Life: Source? Maybe also get the DLCs?

Black mesa is about as good of an entry point as half life 1, I'd recommend staying away from half life source, as it is bug riddled, and not much different than base HL1. The expansion packs are both great, and worth getting, but don't expect them to come up later.

Decay was originally released as part of the Half-Life 1 Playstation 2 port but has since been released as a mod for Half-Life 1 and is designed to be played with 2 people; although the mod can be played as single player by swapping which character you are in control of.
