Is there any way to change the HUD size/scale?

I recently got a new monitor with a resolution of 1920x1200 and booted up HL2 only notice that my HUD was huge. The same thing happened in every source game I own. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing I tried helped. If anyone knows how to change the size or scale of the HUD your help would be much appreciated!

Did you match your monitors aspect ratio to the game options?

There's a site with a console command list but I didn't see anything regarding hud shrinking. It may have commands to disable it or change its color

I do want to see my HUD and I like the color of it already.

Understood never made any changes to mine, but then I never had the item get bigger than it always was. Most of the players want to get rid of it and gun sights for some reason

UGH some patch messed with UI and now it's too big for me in QHD (2560x1440) rez. I'd love to have a slider for that.

Size of GUI in main menu etc is great, but ingame HUD should be 0.8x of what's available now.
