how is follow freeman supposed to be fun?
apparently this is "one of the best chapters in the game" and "its completely unforgettable" but all i see is striders, striders, death, more striders, grenades, death, even more striders, rebels that do nothing but block your way and die like idiots. can someone tell me what im doing wrong? follow freeman is probably the worst chapter yet in my experience, its really difficult to the point of frustration, and im only playing on normal, and i really don't want to hear comments like "oh you're just bad" or "learn to get good idiot", i dont mean to say im amazing at any video game, but im not terrible, i was able to handle the entire rest of the game up until now, but this broke me, just, let me know if im doing something wrong, or if this really is that infuriating

Well, yea, i suppose it is a matter of opinion, but still, its hard for me to understand the thought behind it, the enviroment just doesn't do it for me, the massive building section was pretty good though, figured out the laser room all on my own and i did like it, but everything else was very hit and miss for me

Try playing it differently, get creative, focus on the Zs and BGs directly in your way and ignore the rest along with the rebels. You can also ignore all but the last 2 walkers.

Follow the Freeman is alright, I love hl2 to death but I can say its one of the harder ones so its less enjoyable. I think Anti-Citizen 1 is one of the funnest though

I recorded my fastest time, under 20 mins and could have knocked another minute off it if I had known about a shortcut found after the run was made.

Send your followers ahead of you to draw out enemies. Just use them as pawns and its pretty fun. Striders are a pain, but you can shoot a rocket, then hide behind cover and safety direct it to the strider. Its a hard chapter, but valve rewards you by making you super OP for the final chapter.

Maneuvering rebels takes up too much time and effort only to end up being disappointed

But there is also the simple things to enjoy, like the medic and his 3 carbon copies giving me medkits

True but there're so many SCs and random suit batteries and MKs all over the place that it makes up for trying to control a bunch of confused crazy kats

still, doesn't make it anyless annoying when you have to go an extended period of time without any hp in the slightest, that's what gets me

TBH I think controlling your squad works better in half life 2 update. They seemed to obey me much easier than in vanilla, but that might be in my head.

Momento,
Is HP health points?
If you're taking tonza damage you're doing it wrong.
Watch the Follow Freeman clip 7 posts above. I blast through the chapter and find enough MKs to stay on path and keep on running
