And no, I'm not trolling. I genuinely think this game is hot garbage, and that just because it might've been something good in the past, doesn't automatically make it good nowadays.

Edit: after a couple of good replies amongst multiple pages of random ♥♥♥♥, I can see why people like this game. I personally don't enjoy it yet but I'll continue playing it and see where it leads.

Valve is just a name, a corporate entity, what mattered was the team behind it and the team that made HL1&2 is gone.

Personally I've been getting my story-driven, singleplayer FPS fix from MachineGames's Wolfenstein reboot and 4A's Metro series in recent years. Though HL2 will forever be my favourite game.

i must agree we should totally ♥♥♥♥ industry and go for discreet talented groups of people which could do things that industry cant. there are mods for half-life 2 including the black mesa game which are more exciting than some industry games. i think that valve is gonna totally lose it, i'm totally pleased with alchemilla and black mesa.

Well, I didn't mean it as in a factual way. I meant if someone thinks something is good, then that's fine. If they think it's bad, then that's also fine. I agree with you, now, if you compare this game to something like, COD WWII, of course it's bad. But I think it was very fun and looking way better (in my opinion) than the competition it had back in 2004. My gaming standards back then weren't so big to be honest.

this game is bad 'cause it was a part of valve's great manipulation and now the whole half-life idea is something nonexistant, people wouldnt have so much hard feelings about this game if it was just another game in the series but at the end it turned out to be a ♥♥♥♥, valve are denying what they created like it was nothing so i'm suppose to love this because i'm stupid and 'cause its ok to be on the other side of the market while its much better to the ones on the opposite side, so none of us are suppose to be smart and are suppose to have only money in our pockets, and thats why i'm suppose to love valve. valve totally lost it in the past time, 'cause these people only have setup their money generator machines and have did nothing for the gaming and gamers, it is sick for me to think about this 'cause i was thinking before how valve is someone who creates games but everybody knows now who they are actually and nobody expects to see something smart from them anymore so it will be ok so to speak if we dont get to have half-life 3 from them.

For me I just downloaded the game 2 or 3 days ago and I honestly find it pretty fun. Its fine whatever you think of this game because it is your opinion and I respect it.

I really think that Half-Life 2 is bad in some ways. The Source engine and the mechanics are so good and alot of games were made because of the engine. I love the movement, the shooting, the graphics are descent for it's age and it yet, hasn't aged at all if you look at other current games. But...the story. The presentation of the story i should say. The game was way to big and the first thing that annoyed me was the boat driving for whole fc*kn 6+ loading screens. The terrible walking sequences through-out the game which just bored me to hell. Ravenholm was awesome but other than that, everything was dull...There was no action around the corner as in Half-Life 1 and the DLCs from GearBox(The Blue Shift and Opposing force). The story was amazingly described and shown in the first part of Half-Life, but the second one...in a nutshell i would say: way too big maps, way too long game, not enough action othen than shooting and killing stupid enemies and not a lot of story-driven action through-out the game. In the first part of Half-Life, 2 loading screens would give you 1 NPC or some sort of a thrilling happening. That in Half-Life 2 just wasn't there. Don't get me wrong, i love Half-Life and to end of my life, i will always love it, especially the first Half-Life and it's DLCs. But the second part i just can't stress enough how bland it was. The story may be amazing, and i respect that, but i couldn't feel the story since the game was just...too...badly performed.
