Can't download the Demo

I'm not really sure what the problem is with this, but it seems that when I try to download the Demo of the game, it seems to have changed nothing. I click the "Download Demo" button, and nothing happens. I've tried loading demos like the Stanley Parable, which work fine, but it seems that this one does not. I should say that I own both the Stanley Parable and Half-Life 2, and I'm not sure if there is only a problem with the HL2 demo.

You can't download the demo if you own the full game.

I have heard of people getting to download the demos of other games, even ones they own.

I think it doesn't work only on Half-Life 2

The demo is nothing but the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ravenholm and some part of first chapter

and leave ravenholm when you unite with father grigori

Why do you need the demo anyway? It's just a shortened version of the game, nothing special.

Yeah, bit I'd like to ownit nonetheless. I'm just confused as to why I can't download it.
