Why not Source 2?
DOTA2 got ported over to it and C-S:GO will be ported but not the all-time classic H-L2. This is weird to me.

Why should it be? The Source Engine one of the key features that made Half-Life 2 so special porting this game would essentialy be waste of time and storage.

Porting a Source Engine game to Source 2(assuming Valve doesn't half-ass it) would be a nice thing to see, considering that we don't know how the physics would work compared to the original.

It's like Half-Life: Source if you ignore the game being a buggy mess.

Physics are pretty much the same.

Well they apparently used some source 2 stuff when reworking Dust 2, and then converted it back to source so.... that's a good sign, right?

I hope that if they do that, it's a separate game and not a patch for the original.

My guess is that the priority order is to port over tf2 and Gary's mod.
After that, who knows?
We may even, if we're lucky, get a broken, Ill-conceived port which takes advantage of none of source 2's features, cause more bugs than it fixes, and will probably have ravenholme take place in broad daylight. :conwayfacepalm:

Tf2 won’t be ported, and GMOD isn’t a valve game.
