Half Life 3, Valve and Adrian Shepard.

So we've had a recent fuss lately about Episode 3/Half life 3. The writer of the half life series published a letter about what could of been. It would of tied up the plot great and would allow for future games. If we got anything else to tie up Freeman's plot and put him into stasis we wouldn't be satisfied. Valve will most likely not use this plot but they can't make us angry. This puts them into a spot where its just better to not make a product. Well let the community finish episode 3. I've seen what the community can produce quality wise so that will work its self out.

A lot of people are disappointed in valve and or angry. If valve truly wants to win peoples hearts and minds again they need to start working on a new half life game ( Yes half life 3 ) not a new card game.. We could be getting left 4 dead 3 but I'm not sure about that. Also I don't know if I want left 4 dead 3. I'd rather see portal 3 because at least its in the half life universe. Maybe I'm just biased. but left 4 dead never appealed to me the way portal and half life did.

Valve has a perfect opportunity to exploit one character still left in the book by Laidlaw. Adrian Shepard. At the end of Opposing Force ( The Second Half life game/Expansion ) the Protagonist Adrian Shepard is put into stasis much like Dr Freeman. Valve could exploit this like they did Freeman. You can put Shepard in any time or place that you want. Because Just like Freeman, Shepard works for the Gman as well. Valve has the perfect opportunity to make a brand new story like half life 2 was a whole new story. They can eventually end it traditionally and by then we will be satisfied and maybe it will be Freeman's turn again eventually once the storm has blown over on that aspect.

In the end I just don't want to see this series go to waste because the community lost faith in it. Valve need to exploit this while they can. The community needs to gather people who are gifted at writing stories and developing they need to finish Episode 3. Valve needs to make Half life 3. Many people would be willing to craft a story for Half life 3. Find someone to replace your Laidlaw make valve great again.

Shepard isn't Laidlaw's creation, he only exists in Gearbox's book while Laidlaw never acknowledged of his existence in canon.
