You dont understant his answer. He didnt regret about making Half-Life2, he regrets about what he didnt make. Its like you want visit Japan and Korea but you can visit only 1 country because you dont have time for another. And after visiting Japan you will be regreting about not having time to visit Korea. The thing is, he wanted to do Half-Life 2 even better, but he couldn't. But he happy about Portal 2 because they done all what they wanted
