The HL2 prefabs are located in the Source SDK, but you can copy them to the "bin/Prefabs" folder in Half-Life 2.
When Source SDK is installed, you can find the prefabs here:

Yes, I am a fan of Blast. I was one of the first people to make one of those challenges, but it mostly ends there. What I learned from that is being channeled into something wacky. (nowhere near final form)
