Low life chaper from episode 1 without alyx
But yeah, Ravenholm is the scary part of HL2 that made me think "damn I never want to replay this game again after I finished once". Same goes for the Low Life zombie part and being chased by an angry antilon queen in episode 2.
The bloom lighting is very spooky for that section and additional shadows add further thrill.
But I always had Alyx aside, so I actually tried to make Gordon acting cool, instead of freakin' around by being trapped in a dark tunnel with zombies. ^^
Ravenholm was a bit worse, but I really like Grigori's traps.
I think Lowlife is much scarier due to continuous spawning, lack of continuous light, grenade wielding zombines and speeders coming from nowhere.
tl;dr = git gud, no seriously, use double shotgun blast or magnum at close/far enough distances so that they don't leap at ya.
