Help with gamebreaking bug (Spoilers for late-game)

So I'm in limbo trying to remove the "Don't go to dangerous places" mind block. I need to bring coins into limbo by putting coins on the eyes of the Bartender. Problem is, when I use the coffee in the saloon to go back to the real world the game crashes.
Has anyone else encountered this or know a way to fix it? I was really enoying the game until this happened.
(Not sure if it matters, but I bought it off GoG not Steam)

i never had a crash on steam, did you try to save the game and than start again after the crashing?
