Why isn't Edna & Harvey: The Breakout on Steam?
Why is the second game on Steam but not the first one? I have it on gala store, but would be really nice to have it here...

Was wondering that myself.
I'll probably just get it off GOG on a sale.

It came up on the old forum. No one knows.
It should be
Would love to play that on Steam. The only game worth playing on German.
The English localization was afaik very bad, but it was supported and playable. So hoping it will eventually pop up on Steam along with more older and classic games.

If they got someone to go over it and de-ESL-ify it I think then being able to put it up on Steam would more than cover the cost of doing that.
Probably just because it is an old-ish game, that is primarily not even an English game. Publishers and studios tend to ignore even their really good past games. Even if it would be ralativly easy to sell them, update them, and expand where they are sold to new platforms like Steam. Even when they are known as one of the best games of all time. A game like Breakout in a less popular genre, that I have only even heard of as "that old game that Daedalic Entertainment made long before I had herd about them", does not stand a chance.
Apparently the breakout is supposed to be like 5 bucks for a digital download on amazon today. But it hasn't gone up yet and the game itself is unavilable so I dunno.

Are you kidding me? You're better off playing every single adventure game from the last fifteen years in German.

The German dubbing industry is huge - everything from TV shows to movies to games - meaning professionalism and talent is cultivated far beyond what you'll find in the U.S.A.

Heck, nowadays even games originally developed in English tend to have better writing (and acting!) in the German language versions. And with games developed in other languages (e.g. Pendulo's games or The Witcher RPG series) it's no contest, really. The German localisation would have had much more care taken with it, and thus tends to be much superior to the English one.

Note: This isn't an issue about which language is "the best"; it's about developers and/or publishers taking greater care with regards to localising for specific geographic areas.
I own almost every game dedilic has released in some form or another and I think having the E&H: the breakout released on steam would be great for not only gamers but their business. Many people have a copy of E&H: Harvey's New Eyes because it has been placed in many bundles, if the first game was to be released on steam lots of players who have played the 2nd game would want to play it. All it would take is fixing the english a little and they would easily make a profit.:egg:

Really you call the business professional because they manhandle and destroy us series by dubbing over them.
Deadalic should really invest in some quality translation and english voice acting because every game I got from them I think the translation/ voice acting quality is from average to just plain bad.
Translation pretty bad, yes, but I haven't experienced bad voice acting with the arguable exception of Sadwick from Whispered World.
Ich wuste nicht das die Übersetzungen so schlecht sind.
I was wondering that myself.
Does anybody know where you can find the Breakout with at least English sub? I think I would rather like to hear the German dub, though. In my opinion, the English dub from "Harvey's New Eyes" is saddly pretty lame sometimes.
Does that explain the "Deja Vu" moments of Harvey's New Eyes?
I am really missing The Breakout, have played it with a friend and it has been really awesome. Want to play it on my own.
Just adding my two cents. I would love to have The Breakout on Steam. I just finished New Eyes and I have a big desire to play the first one, on Steam.
