This game is *unbelievably* buggy. Why?
I have always been a huge fan of Daedalic's traditional point and clicks. To me, they are the second coming of Lucasarts, and the only candidate for such a title, in my opinion.

Harvey's New Eyes is the only in the Daedalic traditional point and click catalog that I haven't yet played, and man, this is not experience I was expecting. Glitches of all kinds abound, and I just managed to stumble into what appears to be a pretty much impossible to miss game breaking bug, involving a shaman and a windigo. This appears to be a many years old issue, that nobody bothered to fix. What makes it so much harder, is that the game is excellent. It has the quality of the other games I've come to cherish.

How did this happen? Why did the Daedalic team leave this great game in such a ruined state? Was the game such a catastrophic flop that the team resented and abandoned it? I can't think of any other plausible explanation

Hello,

In general we are aware that there are still some bugs in our traditional point and click games like Harvey's New Eyes, but they usually only appear in specific situations, which makes them easy to miss, while testing the game or even when trying to reproduce them (which is crucial in order to fix them).

This is also the case for the shaman bug, which (as we recently noticed) only seems to appear when loading a savegame (either manually created by a player or automatically created by the game) in which Lilli has already talked to the Miner about the Vendigo but hasn't talked to the shaman yet. Based on a closer look at the savegames, we recently received from of a user affected by this bug, the reason for this issue seems to be, that the information, which dialog options are currently available for the player, is (at least sometimes) not saved correctly/not correctly handled while loading, so that after loading a savegame the game only shows the options, which are available by default. Choosing these options will not unlock the other options though, because that's only possible when choosing the option for the first time, and the information, that this option was chosen before is saved correctly and correctly handled while loading.

It is possible to work around this issue though by loading an older manually created savegame (either one you created or a savegame from https://www.daedalicsupport.com/en/games/harvey/savegames.html ), in which Lilli hasn't talked to the miner yet, and then not closing the game between talking to the miner and talking to the shaman.
