Chess game broken?

I just completed my first round (all my Harveys had taken their turn) but they never reset. The game is telling me to select a Harvey, but I can't...

we are very sorry for this. At first, is this your first playthrough? If not, did you something different than the last time? Unfortunately, I'm not sure if our savegames here ( https://www.daedalicsupport.com/en/games/harvey/savegames.html ) are able to help you because you are that close to the ending. I would suggest you to contact our support over [e-mail] and to send them your savegames (in the link i've written a few lines before) and your dxdiag.txt. Therefor you need to type "dxdiag" in the windows search bar and then just hit the "safe all information" button.

Hi Chiba - thanks for the response. I ended up just using the "skip" option to get out of it and get to the end. Really enjoyed the story!

Foxing gamebreaking bug with talking to shaman would've helped too.

No man how can you suggest that? I got really far in the chess game after I used the alcohol harvey and rage harvey combo to grant me 3 more rounds of combat but I couldn't beat it even after that because I either run out of rounds or hp. Plus if I wouldn't have to use this tactic, I could deal way more damage to the enemy.

What I want to say is that I want to deal MASSIVE DAMAGE and a GIANT ENEMY CRAB from ancient Japan... jk

I'm disappointed that this happened plus the bug with talking to the Shaman plus a few graphical Issues with Capu and Harveys Eyes in the final chess battle, when you reload your save, they're red again even after you sew his old eyes on.

Either way, this really is an amazing game <3

So I just finished this game and I've run into the same bug as well. I tried beating the chess game with this guide (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=796254785) which recommends that you use Location Harvey's Protect-Combo, Alcohol Harvey's healing and attack with all the other Harvey's.
At first I tried to use magic and combos for the attacks. Especially the combos where two Harvey's attack together to deal more damage. But three times I got the bug and had to flee from battle as a result.
Fed up after this I just stuck with regular attacks. I still used Location Harvey's Protect-Combo and Alcohol Harvey's healing, but as far as attacks go, I only used the weak, regular attacks - and never encountered the bug again.
My guess is that the bug might be triggered by some of these combos and magic moves (maybe by the double attack?). Just a guess though.

Damn, I forgot that I can't post the link to the guide. The guide I mentioned is called 'Last Puzzle Mother Superior how to beat'.

I encountered the same bug. Surprised it's still not fixed almost 2 years later. Sure you can skip this minigame to "solve" this problem but it's not the point of a puzzle game...

I got this bug too. It seems to happen if you try the 'wrong' moves. If you follow the guide this never happens though. Even if it takes quite a bit to win with that strategy, at least it works.

I had the same issue. For some reason if you use only combos per round, the two Harvey's used are down at once and once they are all used, the game never resets to play another round. What I did to compensate for that was started off each round with the Berserker/Location Harvey combo (because it does 2 damage to 5 opponents per round) then used the alcohol Harvey's magic to heal all three of them in order to keep those three alive. I finished each round with the other Harvey's in single strikes going after the rest in order, the Spider Harvey (since he can block bullets), then the Snowman (since he can block fire and and heal allies) then Justina because she can heal allies. If the Berserker or Location or Alcohol Harveys were at full health in the round then I used alcohol Harvey to heal the Harvey with the least HP within that round. Hope this helps.

Quite disappointing bug just before the end of the game. Really thought I was doing something wrong :/
