Solution to the black screen + sound problem

For the longest time, I couldn't play this game due to one of the bugs.
I read around, searching for solutions, but didn't find any.

In some testing, I figured it out.

If your specific difficulty playing this game is it plays the Unreal video, then goes to a black screen with sound...

...the fix is to change your resolution to 1280x720 before opening the game.

I did this, and the game suddenly worked.

Once you're in the game, you will be able to navigate the menus, and set the game to Windowed mode instead of Full Screen.

Once set in Windowed mode, the game may be run in any resolution.

Again, I'm not posting this for me. I just got to enjoy the game, and solve it in one sitting. Posting this for others like me.

i'd tried changing my screen res before but was simply met with black screens, no idea why 1280X720 works over others but thank you! holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ christ, thank you!
